Sand Castles and Hurricane Bill !

What ever happened to the humble sand castle ? Now people turn up down Church cove, spending hours on end creating these stone piles, tapered and hollow and perfectly formed, they really are amazing and a delight to happen across at the end of the day whilst walking the dog. It's Andy Goldsworthy's fault, he started all this stone piling business ! Mind you, I have to say I've never seen one being built ! Aliens ? The same little green fellas that make the crop circles ? Could be ?

Hurricane Bill passed by our shores today, big seas, big rain and big wind ... A bunch of us headed down Kennack sands tonight to catch the tail end of the beast on our boards, the usual suspects, Jon, Dom, Jake and Me. Truth be known it really was the tail end ... But hey, it's not every day you can make the claim you just surfed the swell of a passing hurricane !?
Back to hearts and cycling ... There you see it, the scar ! That's what this is all about, my scar and why it's there... Sadly not a swash buckling sword fight or shark attack but a scalpel, cutting deep, right through to my sternum, leaving that free for the electric saw to hack through my bone ! Eek... Thankfully I was of course blissfully unaware of everything going on by then...
Heart disease and congenital heart related problems will effect one in three people in the country at some time in their lives, and the British heart foundation are funding around 1200 research projects investigating and pioneering treatment in every aspect of heart disease as well as providing vital equipment to hospitals and funding BHF nurses to visit heart patients in their homes... Rant over. I had absolutely no idea just how much the BHF actually do until I became a heart patient myself with a heightened awareness of just how valuable their work really is.
